Envirosaver Oil/Water Separator.  Separates the oil from compressed air condensate, including that generated from aftercoolers, separators, drop legs, dryers, filters, and receivers.

Operation:
Condensate enters the inlet under pressure, which is reduced in the pressure relief chamber. Solids fall to the bottom of the trap and liquid flows to the calm outer chamber where the oil separates and floats to the top. Cleaner condensate from the bottom of this area proceeds up a tube and into the next chamber where it flows first through the coalescing media and then through the activated carbon filter. (2 carbon filters in model 1250 shown). Oil is continuously removed from the top of the outer chamber as the clean water flows from the filter chamber.

Why should you install an oil/water separator?  Under the Clean Water Act, it is illegal to drain oily compressed air system condensate into the ground or waterways.  Enforcement of this act means violators face stiff fines and even jail terms - no slap on the wrist.  In addition, many banks are requiring environmental audits before granting loans to companies or allowing ownership transfers.

What can you do?  1) Hope you don't get caught, 2) Pay someone high fees for legal disposal of gallons of oily condensate, 3) Isolate the small volume of oil in your condensate with an oil/water separator from Van Air Systems.
